If you go South on the Panamerican Highway, about two kilometers past Quepos is a small barrio called Immaculada. It is on the right on the way to the airport and hospital.
There is an elementary school there that not many people know about. There are 200 students crammed into a small broken down facility.
The place is a wreck and they have no money to improve it. The teachers have no supplies except what they are willing to buy with their $500 per month salaries. They have no books or materials. To make copies for the students the teachers have to go into town and have copies made at the copy store at their own expense. There are dangerous holes in the ground and rebar sticking up. Walls are falling down. There are no doors on the bathrooms or seats on the toilets. The students are some of the poorest in Quepos. They cannot afford materials and sometimes food.
Casa Pura Vida and the Williams Family has committed to give their school a facelift and bring them supplies. It is a big task but we know that we can do it with your help.
The last week of June we are going down to Quepos with a team of 20 self supporting volunteers and we are going to work hard to make a place for them to learn. We have contractors and teachers and artists going. We are taking several college students. We are going to teach them each day a story of Gods love, play games with them, do art projects, sing, and leave them with a safer, sunny environment. We will get down there ourselves and provide all the labor but we need help with the materials....
